| Organic CSA What's It All About? Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is a partnership of individuals who support farmers with a pledge of financial support. As part of the team, members provide input into the organic produce that is grown. In return for their financial commitment, members are assured the receipt of safe, organic produce on a weekly basis. Farmers are freed from the burden of debt and return the rewards of the labors to you, the shareholders. Members and farmers together enjoy the bounty of good, organic produce. How Does It Work ? Members will receive a weekly shopping list via email that they will use for deciding what items and quantities they would like to receive for the next week. Members will select items and quantities on their shopping list totaling at least $20. Amounts beyond $20 are the responsibility of the members. Members will then email their list back to the farmer to be filled for Saturday. Please note: the selection provided will depend upon the growing season. Members then pick up their produce at one of the following distribution points: Lewis' Veggie Farm Stall Roadrunner Park, 36th St. & Cactus Saturdays Mornings 7:00 to 11:00am - May thru October 8:00 to 12:00pm - October thru May Lewis' Veggie Farm Stall * Old Town Casa Grande Farmers Market Tuesdays 10am till 2pm - November thru April 7 till 11am - May thru October Closed July and August Assisting with filling your order at the distribution location will help aid in a smooth distribution and adds an additional opportunity to support the CSA. We hope to eventually be able to provide interested members the chance of volunteering to help harvest at the farm. PRICING - Effective February 1, 2010 Full Share (50 weeks): $ 750 *Best Deal @ $15/week for $20 worth of produce* Half Share (26 weeks): $ 520 * $20/ week x 26 weeks Quarter Share (12 weeks): $ 240 *$20/week x 12 weeks Growing Seasons are as follows: Summer: May thru October Winter: November thru April Payments: * Cash or Check are gladly accepted *Credit Cards are accepted (There is a 3.5% fee for credit cards) *Payment plans can be arranged - please ask Important Notes: Most members find that CSA's do not provide families with enough produce to meet their usual intake. Depending on the size of your family and how much you cook, you will probably find that you either need to supplement your vegetables from your local grocery store or purchase additional items at the market. Of course, we hope you will shop with us at the market. If you and your family wish to eat seasonally, you may find that it may take awhile to make that transition from eating whatever is at the grocery store (pretty much everything) to the produce that is seasonal. Most folks are surprised to find that, depending on the season, many different items are available at different times of the year. What Else Do I Get When I Join ?
